NEW SUNSET FAERY ON EBAY!

Hi All-

I've been so busy lately, I haven't had time to breath. However, part of that business was creating my new faery, "Kanika, A Sunset Faery." She was inspired by John Atikinson Grimshaw's painting, "Spirit of the Night" which was painted in 1879. I just love the pose and wanted to try it in clay. I was also inspired by the Madagascan Sunset Moth, whose wings are so beautiful they take your breath away! I painstakingly painted them on silk, but of course, Mother Nature is such a master, who can compete? :-) This faery is a little different for me as it's the first time I've given a faery two-tone hair. Also, her skin is a little darker since she is a faery from Madagascar and lives in a tropical climate. Thanks for taking a peek! You can see her auction link below or search #310041764203 on eBay.

Countdown To A One Woman Show!

Hi All--

I have some really exciting news. Recently, I was contacted by a gallery in Beacon New York called Zahra's Studio. They would like to do a one woman show of my work, and it is scheduled for October 2008. Since I have nothing lying around to sell, I'll have to do all new work. I'm finding this to be a great challenge, and a real source of inspiration, and so I've decided to blog about it. I've started a new blog, which I'd like to invite you all to read, and it's called "Countdown To A One Woman Show." In the blog you will get sneak peeks at some of the work that will be available for sale at the gallery, plus you will get to see some works in progress. Also, here you will be able to read my thoughts on certain pieces, and experience the day to day of what it's like to work on the pieces. Finally! I can return to sculpting! Yes, of course holiday parties are fun...but...okay, okay. I'm a boring person. I like being alone and sculpting. What can I say?

New Witch Sculpture!

Hi All-

I've just finished a new witch sculpture and I'd like to share her with you! Her name is 'Nocturna." You can see some photos of her below!

Her dress is all silk, and she has real eye lashes. All her trims are hand-painted by me. She is sculpted out of hand-mixed polymer clays.
